Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) The excellent second album by "Us" was on my wishlist already for too long... It's on the same high musical level as its predecessor, and fans of "IQ" certainly will enjoy it. It occurs around once in a lifetime (statistically, not literally) that I select a 25+ minute track as my favorite - but here the miracle happened, which allows some conclusions about the overall songwriting quality of the music. The highlights of the songs are their awesome melodies that go round and round in my head all day long, as well as Jos Wernars' thundering bass guitar, rumbling along in best Chris Squire tradition. Favorite track: life in progress.

Pie What a great record! (makes me proud to be half-Dutch) Sadly, Us's subsequent output is not nearly as good :(

When you like your prog to be more beautiful and/or accessible than prog-proggy, than this is for you! Melodic as hell and yes, Peter Falconer is quite a singer! That wouldn't go half the way without the solid songs of Pat Sanders. A great combination of skills ;-) Carsten Pieper

See my comment to the simultaneously acquired Phideax album: Beautiful music is very welcome in this crazy times... Mostly instrumental rock progressivo italiano. If I got this right, this is kind of a decades-old family's affair. Good, that the, er, ragazzi finally started recording/publishing their music. PS Well, not everything here exactly fits the "beautiful music" Iabel. Styles and moods vary from mellow/Camel to edgy/Crimso King. Carsten Pieper

Since Carsten Pieper writes so enthusiastically about this band, I had to give it a try, and really, I'm very enchanted! Well, I always can rely on Carsten's opinion... So this is a demo?! That's kind of an understatement. It's much better than lots of official releases cranked out by other bands nowadays, and sold for big bucks. This phenomenon reminds me of the superb "demo" issued back in 2003 by Jordsjø's compatriots Wobbler, containing a similar kind of retro prog in the vein of early 70's kraut. Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
